How QNET Is Helping Provide Safe Drinking Water Across Africa

On March 26, 2022, representatives from direct sales company QNET attended the World Water Forum in Dakar, the capital city of Senegal in West Africa. While it was the first time Africa hosted the event, this was the ninth edition of the global affair. Business leaders from around the planet came together to discuss ways to promote and implement actionable response tactics to create an integrated method for water sanitation.

The theme of the significant event was “Water Security for Peace and Development,” and QNET was able to showcase its offering for safe drinking water solutions: the HomePure Complete Water Filtration System. One of the global strategies of the direct sales company, which is headquartered in Hong Kong, is to spread awareness on first-rate ways to get safe drinking water. That’s why it participated in the World Water Forum to contribute to the effort to achieve better water security for the people of Africa.

The point of the World Water Forum is to bring together key decision-makers and unite the world’s water community in an effort to make lasting progress and changes to global water challenges.

The Clean Water Crisis

Clean drinking water is a basic human need. And yet UNICEF published the results of a 2015 research study that proved that 11% of the world’s population does not have access to sanitary water. The situation is dire in sub-Saharan Africa, where only 61% of the population can get safe drinking water. That’s the third-largest population in the world, deprived of an adequate cache of drinking water. According to a survey conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO), in Nigeria, 63 million people cannot obtain safe drinking water, which has put them at risk of contracting waterborne diseases like typhoid and cholera.

“Economic and environmental concerns related to climate change have highlighted the decreasing availability of quality water supply in certain countries, which have low budgets for water treatment, especially in Africa,” explains Biram Fall, QNET’s regional manager, sub-Saharan Africa. “While households may not be able to control these factors, they can control the quality of water in their homes, and we aim to be part of the solution.”

7 Benefits of QNET’s HomePure Nova Water Filtration System

  • Removes viruses and bacteria
  • Turns tap water into Pi water, which is molecularly similar to the water inside living things, providing better hydration. Dr. Akihiro Yamashita discovered Pi water in 1964
  • Filters out fine particles and contaminants, including OTC/prescription drugs, detergents, flame retardants, pesticides, and herbicides
  • Does not require electricity
  • Environmentally friendly
  • Improves taste, reduces chlorine and odor
  • Easy to install

QNET’s Environmentally Conscious Water Filtration System

Bottled water has its benefits, but all of that one-time-use plastic is so bad for the environment that using a water filtration system like HomePure Nova makes sense. According to QNET, scientists in South Korea spent 10 years designing the nine-stage filtration system to eliminate 99.99% of viruses, bacteria, chemicals, and toxins from tap water.

HomePure can even handle the two major water-quality issues plaguing sub-Saharan Africa: hard water and fine sediment. According to Fall, “These factors prevent most water filtration systems from working at optimum performance. [However, the HomePure] eliminates harmful bacteria and viruses, improves taste, and turns tap water into Pi water with no need for electricity, which is hard to come by for many African homes.”

QNET’s water filtration system is small, portable, and easy to install. “In Nigeria, more than 130,000 children die of water-related diseases such as cholera and diarrhea annually. Moreover, having access to safe drinking water in the country is an expensive challenge for many,” says Fall. “An average family in Lagos, for example, expends a sizable portion of their income on just access to safe drinking water. This is by no means sustainable, hence the need for a more sustainable approach.”

Kevin Tsemo uses the HomePure Nova system in west-central Africa. “We used to say here in Cameroon that the tap water we drink here is mud! And it is responsible for many diseases. I have been using HomePure for three years. The product is unbelievable with the Pi water. All the family is enjoying it, and diseases linked to water completely disappeared from everyone. In addition, we saved a lot of money since there is no more need to buy plastic bottles of mineral water because we have transformed our tap water into pure water.”

And according to customer Hossam Elfar, “My mom always had difficulty drinking sufficient water since she always complained about the taste, and I had to squeeze lemon or add some flavors to change the taste for her. However, drinking Pi water made a big difference in our lives.” It also benefited his vegetation. “Watering my plants with Pi water is a unique experience that I really appreciate,” says Elfar. “Now, almost all of my family members and friends have one of those amazing devices. After 10 years, mine is still functioning the same as day one because I change my filter cartridges on time.”
