How QNET Is Helping Provide Safe Drinking Water Across Africa

On March 26, 2022, representatives from direct sales company QNET attended the World Water Forum in Dakar, the capital city of Senegal in West Africa. While it was the first time Africa hosted the event, this was the ninth edition of the global affair. Business leaders from around the planet came together to discuss ways to promote and implement actionable response tactics to create an integrated method for water sanitation.

The theme of the significant event was “Water Security for Peace and Development,” and QNET was able to showcase its offering for safe drinking water solutions: the HomePure Complete Water Filtration System. One of the global strategies of the direct sales company, which is headquartered in Hong Kong, is to spread awareness on first-rate ways to get safe drinking water. That’s why it participated in the World Water Forum to contribute to the effort to achieve better water security for the people of Africa.

The Clean Water Crisis

Clean drinking water is a basic human need. And yet UNICEF published the results of a 2015 research study that proved that 11% of the world’s population does not have access to sanitary water. The situation is dire in sub-Saharan Africa, where only 61% of the population can get safe drinking water. That’s the third-largest population in the world, deprived of an adequate cache of drinking water. According to a survey conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO), in Nigeria, 63 million people cannot obtain safe drinking water, which has put them at risk of contracting waterborne diseases like typhoid and cholera.

“Economic and environmental concerns related to climate change have highlighted the decreasing availability of quality water supply in certain countries, which have low budgets for water treatment, especially in Africa,” explains Biram Fall, QNET’s regional manager, sub-Saharan Africa. “While households may not be able to control these factors, they can control the quality of water in their homes, and we aim to be part of the solution.”
